About Made in Yosemite LLC

Made in Yosemite LLC is a California-based art studio.  Yosemite draws millions of visitors each year, yet much of what is sold in its orbit is designed and manufactured far from the Sierra Nevada. Made in Yosemite seeks to shift that balance by cultivating a recognizable standard for locally conceived and locally crafted products.  Every Made in Yosemite product is created within a 50-mile radius of Yosemite National Park. This geographic commitment anchors the work to place — not symbolically, but physically. It ensures that what visitors take home reflects lived experience rather than distant production.

A Marketplace for Local Makers

While the studio began with the work of its founder, the long-term vision extends beyond a single artist.

Made in Yosemite is being developed as a curated marketplace — a trusted source where travelers can discover products created by local artists, printmakers, photographers, and craftspeople whose work is rooted in proximity to Yosemite. The goal is to create a sustainable ecosystem that allows regional makers to reach visitors without sacrificing authenticity.

Rather than competing with mass-produced souvenir distributors, Made in Yosemite aims to elevate local production as a defining standard. Over time, the platform will expand to include additional artists and goods that meet its criteria for regional integrity and craftsmanship.

This is not a volume-driven enterprise. It is a place-driven one.

Mission

In a marketplace saturated with generic souvenirs, Made in Yosemite exists to offer something authentic, grounded, and enduring.  From trail to treasure, the enterprise reflects values about locally-sourced keepsakes.

About the Artist

Just as Yosemite’s trails flow through wildflowers, cascading waterfalls, and granite domes, local artist Pete Bothwell’s serpentine linework mirrors that same natural rhythm. Sketched during trail runs and layered onto hand-printed monoprints, each piece captures the wild, awe-filled artistry of this iconic landscape—offering a lasting connection to the park for those who’ve wandered its trails or dream of doing so, and a meaningful way to share it with family and friends.
